Law enforcement guard Confederate statue in Corinth after online threat

Barricades were put around a Confederate statue in Corinth, Mississippi, following an online threat to remove it.

The threat came from a hacking group called Anonymous, WTVA reported.

Corinth Police Chief Ralph Dance and Alcorn County Sheriff Ben Caldwell addressed the media about the situation around noon Friday. Both agreed they respect people's right to protest, but they will not accept the destruction of property.
