Victim bites off alleged rapist's finger
A man who allegedly attacked a woman in a north Jackson apartment did not escape unscathed.
Jackson Police Department spokesman Tyree Jones said the unnamed victim bit part of her attacker's finger off after he allegedly broke into her apartment, held her against her will, and sexually assaulted her.
Carl Dutch Bolton, 41, is charged with capital rape, kidnapping and aggravated assault, according to Hinds County Jail records.
The woman was injured, but once she bit Bolton's finger off, she was able to escape and call police.
Bolton was found inside the apartment and was arrested. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
The victim was also treated at a local hospital.
Bolton is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond.
