Suspect in triple homicide turns himself in to police
A suspect in Thursday night's triple homicide turned himself into police Friday evening.
Jackson Police Department announced via Twitter shortly before 6 p.m. that Carl Harper, 24, was in custody as the criminal investigation continued into the fatal shooting that also put another man in the hospital.
According to JPD, brothers Dominique Garrett, 23, and Marquis Garrett, 25, were playing dominoes with an unidentified person inside an apartment at Westwood Apartments at 3150 Robinson Road Thursday.
At approximately 10:23 p.m., at least three suspects gained entry to the apartment and demanded the people inside give up their belongings, according to JPD Cmdr. Tyree Jones. At least two of the suspects were armed when they entered the home.
The brothers also were armed and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, police said.

Marquis Garrett was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center with gunshot wounds. He was listed in serious condition Friday morning. An update on his condition was unavailable later that evening, as Marquis Garrett's name was no longer listed on the hospital's public patient registry.
His brother, Dominque Garrett, died on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
Jacarin Robinson, 21, one of the alleged intruders, also died on the scene after a gunshot wound to the head.
Another of the alleged suspects, Jessie Kelly, 23, sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Merit Health via private vehicle by an unknown accomplice. He died around 4 a.m. Friday, Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said.
