$7,500 reward offered for store owner's killer

A reward is being offered by friends and family of a store owner killed in an armed robbery in Brandon before Christmas.

On Dec. 21, Swaran "Sam" Singh was found shot multiple times when a customer entered D's One Stop on U.S. 80 East to buy a drink and thought it was odd Singh was not behind the counter. The customer found him in a storage room.

Police said the shooting took place around closing time. They responded to the call at 10:17 p.m. The suspect took cash and the store's surveillance system recorder.

A $5,000 reward has been put up by family and friends of Singh, and there is a reward of up to $2,500 from CrimeStoppers for tips leading to an arrest. Brandon police are asking for anyone who knows anything about the crime to come forward with information.
