Man charged in Jackson County homicide

Charges have been pressed in a Saturday night homicide in Jackson County.
A release from Sheriff Mike Ezell's office said Brandon Colby Smith, 32, was charged with murder Sunday in the death of 30-year-old Elizabeth Corene Jones of Vancleave.
Authorities said so far a motive has not been established, and that an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Smith was taken into custody Sunday morning by Gautier police on unrelated charges. He is currently in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
Coroner Vickie Broadus said the cause of death is not being released, pending autopsy.
