A man was rescued from a house fire on Lea Circle early Saturday morning.

Jackson firefighters were able to rescue a man from a working house fire early Saturday morning, officials said.

Photos and videos taken at the scene show at least part of the residence at 213 Lea Circle was heavily involved in flames when firefighters found the man at a window that was secured by burglar bars.

The call came in just after 2 a.m., said Division Chief Cleotha Sanders, and there was a report of one person possibly still inside the home.

When firefighters arrived, one team made entry with a hose line and conducted a primary search, and another began checking the windows. That's when they found the man trapped. They were able to pry open the security bars and pull the man out the window.

He was transported to a local hospital, Sanders said. Firefighters completed the search and found no one else inside the home.

The name of the survivor has not been released, and  his condition is unclear.

"We pray he makes a full recovery. We thank God that our firefighters reached him when they did, giving him the best chance of survival," Sanders said.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues, Sanders said Saturday afternoon.
