An 18-year-old man is dead after a shooting in south Jackson Friday night.

Jackson police on the scene of the city's 58th homicide on Anna Lisa Lane.

Jackson police spokesman Cmdr. Tyree Jones said the incident looked like a car accident at first because a vehicle had left the road and struck a house. When police arrived around 7:36 p.m., they found that the victim, Tunoris Lewis, had been shot multiple times in the driver's seat of the vehicle.

There were two men wearing dark colored hoodies seen running from the vehicle after the shots were fired, Jones said. Police believe the shots may have been fired from inside the vehicle, and they believe the two men who fled the scene may have been in the vehicle.

Police say there is no suspect or motive information yet, and are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have on the crime.

"At this time we need all the help we can get regarding this incident," Jones said.
