I-55 Subway robbed at gunpoint Sunday

A Subway sandwich shop was robbed Sunday morning at gunpoint, Jackson police said.

JPD Commander Tyree Jones told reporters that the robbery took place around 9:45 a.m. Sunday at the Subway at 6351 I-55 North.

Police said the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and something around his mouth. He allegedly entered the store threatened employees at gunpoint. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and register.

The alleged suspect is believed to have left the scene in a black Chevy Tahoe. No one was injured in the incident.
