Man killed in Claiborne County wreck
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, a man was killed and three other people were hospitalized in an early Sunday wreck.
MHP spokesman Cpl. Eric Henry said in a release that Derrick Williams, 29, of Patterson, was killed on the scene when his Honda Accord was hit head-on by a Buick Enclave SUV.
Authorities said preliminary reports show that at 1:40 a.m., the SUV was traveling north on Mississippi 547 when it appears to have crossed over into the southbound lane. First it allegedly sideswiped a Buick Century, then it hit Williams' Accord head-on.

Officials said alcohol could have played a factor. Charges have not been ruled out pending lab results from the crime lab.
