Missing person case now homicide investigation

A missing McComb man was found dead Thursday in the Bogue Chitto River.

Cort Gatlin was reported missing to the McComb Police Dept. on August 30. According to the police report, he was last seen August 26.

The body was discovered near Alfords Bridge close to a boat launch, Pike County Chief Investigator Greg Martin said. An autopsy revealed Gatlin suffered blunt force trauma and was shot three times.

Chief Martin said that a motive has not been established but there are some persons of interest.
