Police have released more information on a woman missing since Sept. 2.

Tammyetta Spaulding

JPD Commander Tyree Jones said the major investigations/ missing persons division is looking for Tammyetta Michelle Spaulding, who was last seen on Sept. 2, but was reported missing on Sept. 7. He said police are asking for the public's help in locating Spaulding.

"At this particular time we don't have any evidence to show that she may be harmed, she's only reported missing," Jones said.

Spaulding is a 37-year-old female, 5 feet 7 inches and 265 pounds. She was last seen with blonde hair, wearing a brown sweater dress and black glasses.

When she was seen on Sept. 2, she was taking her children to school, and officials say she spoke to a relative on Sept. 3.

Her blue Chevrolet Equinox with a paper tag was reported abandoned in the area of Savannah Street near Interstate 55. It was towed by a wrecker service, and police have custody of it now. Jones wouldn't comment about whether Spaulding's credit cards or phone have been used since her disappearance.

Jones said police are particularly concerned because Spaulding does not have her medication with her.

So far there have not been a lot of leads in the case, Jones said, but the community has rallied to try to help find Spaulding.

"The public is doing an outreach as well, we've seen it on social media," Jones said. "So the public is on board with this."

If you have knowledge of Spaulding's whereabouts, please call JPD at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
