A 4-year-old injured in a one-vehicle crash in Copiah County on Sunday has died, Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart said.

Jenice Harris, 31, and Journee Harris, 4, both died as a result of this wreck in Copiah County.

Jenice Harris, 31, of Jackson, was pronounced dead on the scene of the wreck that took place on Mississippi 18 near Carpenter Road. Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Eric Henry said there were three occupants in the Chevrolet Impala when it collided with a tree.

A 13-year-old girl in the front seat was taken by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center with serious injuries, and Journee was airlifted to UMMC with life-threatening injuries. She was being treated in the ICU, officials said.

Authorities said Monday that the 13-year-old was in stable condition with broken bones. Her current status is unclear.

The accident is under investigation.
