In-state rivals Mississippi State and Ole Miss are leading a spring break contest at Nos. 1 and 2 over several other colleges.

Hail State and Hotty Toddy, right?

Not necessarily.

In Walton County, Florida, the sheriff's department is keeping a Twitter count of underage drinking arrests from colleges.

Mississippi State jumped to the lead early with 11 reported on Tuesday.

"Our #SpringBreak2018 Operation is in full effect. WCSO enforcing #ZeroTolerance policy regarding underage drinking. You will go to jail; approx 45 miles from the beach," the Walton County Sheriff's Office account tweeted.

It showed a count with MSU at 11 arrests, the University of Tennessee with seven, Georgia Southern with six, and the University of North Georgia at five.

The WCSO Twitter account also touted the fact that they have created a house party task force to combat underage drinking at house parties in Sandestin and Miramar Beach.

On Wednesday, WCSO tweeted, "Aaaaaannnnddddd Texas A&M is on the board. #ThatDidntTakeLong #SpringBreak #ZeroTolerance."

On Thursday, they updated the numbers, and Ole Miss had jumped to second place.

MSU was up to 12, Ole Miss had eight, and Texas A&M, Georgia Southern and University of Tennessee were all tied at six each.

Shortly following the update, WCSO tweeted to the local police departments of four of the schools, including the nationally-known Oxford Police Department account.

"Yikes," the tweet read.

Several Twitter users responded by asking why Walton County officers didn't spend their time on more serious crime, accusing them of being the reason for 2019 tourism revenue falling, and having "a vendetta against college students."

WCSO tweeted back to many of the haters who got a little salty over the underage drinking arrests.

"All those triggered over the underage drinking arrests, look at this puppy. Hopefully, this will brighten your day. Or it’ll keep you busy while you drive 45 miles to the jail pick your friends up. #ZEROTOLERANCE #SpringBreak #YouMadBro #SB2K18," the account, which according to another tweet is not run by Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson, tweeted.

The Clarion Ledger reached out via Twitter to see if we could find out when the Twitter count is officially over, but we have not received an answer yet. Follow @WCSOFL to keep up.
