Four masked men broke into a Jackson convenience store and tried to steal the ATM machine Monday morning.

Jackson Police Department Commander Tyree Jones said a citizen called around 5:26 a.m. about suspicious activity at Jasco on Woodrow Wilson Avenue.

After breaking through the burglar door, the suspects tried to pull the ATM machine out with a heavy-duty chain but were unsuccessful, Jones said. JPD could not confirm if Monday’s incident is related to recent ATM robbery cases.
