ATM stolen from Walgreens in north Jackson; Suspect vehicle found

Jackson police said thieves smashed the front doors of a Walgreens and took the ATM on Thursday morning.

The break-in was reported around 5 a.m. at the Meadowbrook Road location, according to media reports. JPD thinks the same suspects broke into another drugstore in Madison.

Madison police said that around 3:42 a.m. they received a call regarding a burglar alarm at the Walgreens store located at 1606 Highland Colony Parkway. Responding officers found the front door pried open. Surveillance video showed three people dressed in dark clothing had pried opened the front door and had attempted to tie a chain around the ATM located in the store near the front entrance. The suspects were unsuccessful and fled in a white van.

JPD said the suspects are two males and a female wearing black clothes, masks and gloves. They were driving a white van with "Simply Clean" on the side.

Patrus Cleaners, formerly known as Simply Clean, on U.S. 51 in Ridgeland said one of its vans was stolen Wednesday night or early Thursday.

The stolen van was found Thursday afternoon in Madison, Louisiana.
