Jackson police have arrested a suspect in a Wednesday kidnapping.

Freddie McField

Jackson Police Department Commander Tyree Jones said in a release that a woman was pumping gas at 2100 Thousand Oaks Dr. when she was approached by a suspect police identified as Freddie McField, 34, who asked her for a ride. He got in the back seat of her car with her six-year-old child, and threatening her with a gun, he ordered her into the drivers seat.

The suspect demanded to be dropped off at an undisclosed location where he got out of the car near an abandoned home.

McField was arrested Thursday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and is awaiting an initial court appearance on two counts of kidnapping.
