Gang related: 4 charged in Meridian shooting

Three teenagers and a 23-year-old have been charged following what the Meridian Police Department is calling a gang related drive-by shooting in Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Dareall Thompson said the incident happened around 5 p.m. in the 2100 block of 27th Avenue, the Meridian Star reported.

Antonio Devon Clay, 15, Toreno Lashun Griffin, 17, Curtis Horton, 23, and Daniel Derrell Reed, 17, are facing felony charges.

Clay is charged with shooting into a dwelling, participating in gang activity, drive-by shooting, aggravated assault and possession of a stolen firearm. He is being held on bonds totaling $205,000.

Griffin

Griffin is charged with shooting into a vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, drive-by shooting, aggravated assault and participating in gang activity. He is being held on bonds totaling $205,000.

Horton

Horton is charged with aggravated assault, drive-by shooting, shooting into a dwelling and participating in gang activity. His bonds total $175,000.

Reed

Reed is charged with aggravated assault, participating in gang activity and two counts of shooting into a vehicle. His bonds total $175,000.

All are being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center.

Thompson said the arrests were the result of the Meridian Police Department working in conjunction with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department. The detective added that minors can be charged as   adults if police believe a weapon was used during the commission of a crime.
