Jackson State defensive back Ryan Griffin plans to play in the FCS National Bowl, he announced via Twitter.

The inaugural all-star game will be held Dec. 7 in FIU's stadium and, according to its website, consists of the top football players from FCS schools.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior is coming off a team-high three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), four pass deflections (tied for third on the team) and three quarterback hurries (third on the team) in 2013.

At starting safety, Griffin has 16 tackles (2.5 for loss), a sack, forced fumble and blocked punt so far this season.

The Michigan native forwent the NFL draft earlier this year.
