I-55 North lanes to close temporarily overnight

In order for crews to install beams on the Gluckstadt bridge of Interstate 55, both northbound lanes of Interstate 55 in the project area will be temporarily closed overnight

The closure will start at 6 p.m. today and will reopen at 7 a.m. Friday morning.

Motorists will be able to use the exit and entrance ramp at Gluckstadt to bypass the closure. Alternate routes include Highway 463 to Highway 51 and Sowell Road in Madison. Motorists may also use U.S. Highway 49 north to Highway 22 in Flora or continue north on U.S. Highway 49 to Yazoo City and take Highway 16 east back to Interstate 55. MDOT advises motorist to proceed through the work zone with caution and to obey all posted signage.
