Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said the victim of a fatal shooting during a home invasion has been identified.

Samuel Parker Reed, 18, is charged with capital murder in the shooting death of a man on Wednesday.

Cameron Jackson, 18, died after he was hit with one shot from an AK-47 when he entered a home in Byram armed with a handgun on Wednesday.

Samuel Parker Reed, 18, is charged with capital murder in the shooting after he and Jackson allegedly conspired to rob the 17-year-old male who lived at the home and shot Jackson.

Even though Reed did not pull the trigger, capital murder is the charge whenever a death occurs during the commission of another crime.

Luke Thompson said police received a call about a burglary in progress and when they arrived at the Kaybrook Drive residence, two people came out of the home with their hands in the air.

Thompson said that the 17-year-old who lived at the home did not know Jackson.
