Man charged in McComb sports bar death

Police have made an arrest in the beating death of a Bogue Chitto man at a McComb sports bar.

Russell E. Creason, 35, of Forest, has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Shaun Wallace. Creason and his attorney surrendered at the McComb Police Department on Wednesday, authorities said.

Wallace, 25, was found unresponsive after being beaten after a fight.

The call came in around 10:45 p.m. at Upper Deck Sports Bar in McComb. Wallace was pronounced dead shortly afterward by Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman.

Creason will be processed, booked, and transferred to the Pike County Detention Center, according to a release from Detective Sydney Boyte. Creason appeared for his arraignment in McComb municipal court on Wednesday.

The investigation and witness interviews are ongoing.

Judge Brandon Frazier has set a bond amount of $250,000.00.
