Jackson police say for the second time in less than two weeks, there has been a shooting at the Black Diamond Club, and this one was fatal.

At 1:45 a.m. Jackson police officers responded to Black Diamonds Club at 210 Parcel Dr. regarding several shots being fired, according to a release from Jackson Police Department.

Police said several people were involved in a fight and at least one of them produced a gun and started shooting inside the building and into the parking lot.

Sylvester Williams, 36, was shot and died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center shortly after. Police said they don't believe that he was part of the fight, nor was he a target.

Dennis Evans, 36, was also shot and sustained life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Ten days ago, a man was shot in both legs in an altercation at the same location.

On Friday, a man was caught in the cross fire of a fight at a local pool hall. He was also not the target of the shooting. Two people have been arrested in the death of Howard Blackmon.

Anyone with any information regarding this suspect responsible for this incident is urged to call the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234 or 601-355-TIPS.
