About a pound of marijuana was brought home by a family's dog.

A family's dog in Jones County, Miss. brought home something unexpected — a large bag of marijuana.

On Saturday, the Jones County Sheriff's Narcotics Division was dispatched to the 200 block of Will Hayes Road, according to a JCSO press release.

The home owner said his dog came home with a bag that he initially thought was garbage. But upon closer inspection suspected the contents of the bag was marijuana. Authorities recovered about a pound of marijuana.
