Prostitution sting in Ridgeland

Four women have been arrested as part of an alleged prostitution ring in Ridgeland, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation announced Friday.

Anjeni' Qyanik Moore, 34, of Norfolk, Virginia, Heaven Leigh Nix, 23, of Memphis, Tennessee, Joneka Santrice Burns, 24, of Jackson, and Candace Renee Stewart, 30, of Byhalia of Mississippi were each arrested and charged with one count of prostitution, according to MBI spokesperson Warren Strain.

The investigation was conducted by MBI's Special Operations Unit and the Ridgeland Police Department. The four women were arrested Thursday night and Friday morning as part of a sting operation.

Strain said it appears the women were working independently and are not believed to be victims of human trafficking. Strain would not confirm or deny if the women had a pimp. He declined to say where the women were arrested, citing an ongoing investigation.

All four women are wanted on other charges from other jurisdictions, Strain said. They are each in the custody of the Madison County Jail.
