The Kansas City Chiefs wasted little time cutting ties with Justin Cox. The NFL organization cut the former Mississippi State safety on Tuesday following his arrest on Monday on charges of domestic violence, burglary and trespassing.

Cox signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent after he wasn't selected in the NFL Draft. Many scouts had Cox graded as a day-three pick, but a November arrest that also brought domestic violence charges raised red flags.

The charges were eventually dropped. Cox pleaded guilty to trespassing in January.

The investigation regarding Monday's arrest is still ongoing. Authorities identified Cox as a suspect shortly after the alleged incident.

Cox played nine games for Mississippi State last year. He was suspended indefinitely following the arrest in November.
