Fatal Christmas Eve shooting in Brookhaven, one behind bars

A man is behind bars after allegedly admitting to a fatal Christmas Eve shooting in Brookhaven.
Brookhaven police said Demetrius Wilson, 26, was shot to death in the Cloverdale subdivision after returning from shopping with his girlfriend.
Yaquilla Washington, 27, is charged with murder after admitting to police that he shot Wilson. According to police, he was apprehended less than 10 minutes after the shooting.
Police told reporters the two men exchanged words while Wilson was still in his vehicle. Wilson and his girlfriend then drove to a different house to drop off some Christmas gifts, and at some point when she returned to the car, she and other witnesses told police they saw Washington shoot Wilson.
Washington is being held in the Lincoln County Jail.
