The last of four escapees is back in custody.

Kevin Holmes surrendered at the downtown Jackson facility at around noon, Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesman Othor Cain said Wednesday.

Holmes, 17, Tyree Bailey, 17, Cornelious Carter, 16 and Airick Toins, 16, escaped April 2 through a fourth floor window and sheets that were tied together. Cain said the window had been malfunctioning.

Bailey and Holmes were both charged with armed robbery. Carter is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and Toins is charged with aggravated assault. All four are charged as adults. Carter made news earlier this year when he hit three Jackson police detectives with a vehicle after a carjacking.

Sheriff Tyrone Lewis said the inmates are facing additional charges for escaping and destruction of county property.

As result of an internal investigation of this incident, jail personnel have resigned, the Hinds Co. Sheriff's Department said in a statement. More disciplinary action could be taken as the investigation continues.
