Ridgeland coach charged with enticement of a child

STARKVILLE, Miss.-Starkville police have charged a Ridgeland High School coach with two counts of enticement of a child.

A warrant was issued for Jody Wayne Britt, 30, after the Starkville police department received reports of several incidents.  Authorities have indicated the events are believed to have taken place within the last week.

Britt, who is from Madison, previously worked as a baseball coach at Starkville Academy.

Britt was accompanied by his attorney when he turned himself in Tuesday for arrest.

His bond was set at $35,000 per count.  Authorities say Britt posted bond soon after being processed.

WAPT reports that Ridgeland High School has been placed Britt on administrative leave.
